Kat Timpf Reveals Health Update During Fox News Absence

Kat Timpf Shares Health Update and New Surgical Plans
Fox News contributor Kat Timpf has recently shared a new health update, revealing that she will be taking some time away from her show, Gutfeld!, as she undergoes reconstructive surgery. The 36-year-old columnist and comedian was diagnosed with breast cancer just hours before going into labor with her son in February of this year. This unexpected diagnosis added an additional layer of complexity to an already challenging time for Timpf.
In March, she underwent a double mastectomy, which marked the beginning of her journey through treatment. Fans and colleagues praised her resilience when she returned to the show in mid-June. However, Timpf is now taking another break from the show, as she prepares for her next step in recovery.
On Monday, Timpf announced on the show that she would be stepping away for a few weeks. She explained that she wanted to clarify the reason for her absence to prevent any speculation online. "When I came back, I said I still had some surgeries to go," she said. "The first reconstructive surgery is next week."
Timpf emphasized that even with the best-case scenario for breast cancer, the road to feeling whole again can be long. "This is the first step in that," she added. "Just so the internet can't come up with theories about where I am, that's where I am. Thank you everyone for all your support, vibes, and prayers or however you show that. I really appreciate it and I can't wait to come back soon."
The following day, Timpf shared a snippet of her explanation on X, captioning the post, "I'll be back on @Gutfeldfox in a few weeks! Huge thanks to those of you who have taken the time to offer me words of kindness and support. I love u all so much."
A Challenging Beginning to Motherhood
In February, Timpf took to Instagram to announce the arrival of her first child. She shared that she was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly before going into labor. In her post, she described the intense emotions of that day: "Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer."
She reassured her followers by adding, "Now, before you worry, my doctor says it's stage 0 and is confident that it almost certainly hasn't spread." She continued with humor, saying, "Or, as I've explained to the few people I've managed to tell about it so far: don't freak out. It's just, like, a little bit of cancer."
Despite the severity of the situation, Timpf described the experience as anything but calm. "Still, it was not a chill day. I mean, to say the least! I woke up more-than-a-week-past-due pregnant, completely consumed by doing everything I could to get the baby out. By the middle of the afternoon, I was waddling around from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out."
Recovery and Resilience
In March, Timpf underwent a double mastectomy for breast cancer. At the time, she shared a post-surgery update with fans, including an image from a hospital bed of her legs covered by a gown with an animated "censored" illustration over her feet. In the caption, she made a joke about her changing body, writing, "Post-op! They're honestly not much smaller than they were before I got pregnant."
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, except for skin cancers, and accounts for about 30% of all new female cancers each year, according to the American Cancer Society. There are currently more than four million breast cancer survivors in the U.S., including women still being treated and those who have completed treatment.
Timpf’s journey highlights the strength and resilience required to face such challenges. Her openness about her health struggles has resonated with many, offering hope and encouragement to others facing similar battles. As she continues her recovery, fans and supporters remain behind her, eagerly awaiting her return to the show.
