A new bill introduced in the U.S. Senate is set to change how patients receive information about the cost of medical services. The proposed legislation, known as the Patients Deserve Price Tags Act, seeks to ensure that patients are made aware of the prices for medical procedures before they receive them.

Senator Roger Marshall, a Republican from Kansas, introduced the bill alongside Senator John Hickenlooper, a Democrat from Colorado. Marshall emphasized the importance of transparency in healthcare, stating that patients should have the same level of information as consumers in other industries. “Customers don’t walk into a restaurant only to find out how much the food costs when they get the bill,” he said. “Patients should know the price of the service they need before they make any decisions.”
